Repair works have been delayed due to industrial strike action to a burst water main in Cork.
Approximately 600 Uisce Éireann consumers in Churchtown North, Ballintotis and surrounding areas have been affected.
The leak has been isolated and final repairs to the water main are scheduled to be completed by noon on Saturday 15 July to restore normal water supply for all impacted customers.
Uisce Éireann has arranged alternative water supplies of drinking water in the following locations from midday today 14 July.
• Leary and O’Mahoney’s Garage
• Ballintotis Church
• Two Mile Inn
Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tanker and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure as per HSE advice.
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from them for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. Most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes.
