Contractors have been appointed to resurface Balmoral Avenue in Belfast.
Resurfacing work will begin on the 2 October and is due to be completed on the 22 October. However this is dependant on favourable weather conditions.
The carriageway will be resurfaced from Harberton Avenue to Malone Road.
In order to facilitate the works, initial road closures will take place overnight from 2 October to 6 October between 9.00pm and 6.00am.
Final carriageway resurfacing will then be undertaken over two weekends in October (Saturday 14 October - Sunday 15 October and Saturday 21 October – Sunday 22 October). This work will be carried out using overnight road closures between the hours of 8.00pm and 8.00am.
A diversionary route will operate via Malone Road - University Road – Shaftsbury Square – Great Victoria Street – Bruce Street – Dublin Road – Lisburn Road and Stockmans Lane.
A country bound diversion route will operate via Lisburn Road – Upper Lisburn Road – Finaghy Road South – Upper Malone Road and Malone Road.
Road users are advised to follow the diversionary routes, comply with the temporary traffic restrictions and exercise caution when travelling through the works.
