Sinn Féin has called on the Government to act as rising fuel costs "continue to cripple people".
The party's East Derry MLA, Caoimhe Archibald, made the comments after the RAC urged retailers to cut prices at the pump.
Caoimhe Archibald said the "British Government should immediately cut the price of fuel" as petrol and diesel continue to rise.
In a statement, Caoimhe Archibald said: "While workers and families struggle to fill their car to go to work and to leave their kids to school, energy giants continue to make eye-watering profits from rip-off prices.
"The RAC has been clear on the need for fuel retailers to reduce prices at the pump to help drivers who are struggling.
"I will again write to the British Chancellor telling him to act now to end the fuel price rip-off and cut fuel costs for families."
