Dublin City Council has launched a public consultation on its plans for the Donnybrook Road to Clonskeagh Road section of the Dodder Greenway.
This scheme will contribute to an increase in walking, wheeling and cycling along 0.8 kilometres of the Dodder Greenway corridor.
The Dodder Greenway scheme will:
• Provide active travel facilities to cater for all ages and abilities along the Dodder River.
• Facilitate a more active lifestyle for all ages bringing multiple benefits for physical and mental wellbeing.
• Contribute to a reduction in transport emissions in line with the objectives of the Climate Action Plan by encouraging a modal shift to active travel use.
The Dodder Greenway is among many projects that are being implemented as part of the City Council's Active Travel Network.
In the coming years, the Active Travel Network is set to grow from its existing 10 kilometres to a connected network of 310 kilometres across Dublin. The network will improve access, connectivity and sustainable mobility for everyone, whilst reducing transport-related carbon emissions.
The public consultation ends on 8 December 2023.
