Brett Martin Wins Sustainable Company Of The Year Award

County Antrim headquartered Brett Martin has won the Green/ Sustainable Company of the Year award at the annual Business Eye Awards.

The company was recognised for its outstanding efforts in sustainability and demonstrable progress towards becoming more sustainable and contributing to the wider environmental goal.

In the last year, Brett Martin has launched its first bio-based range. BioPlus is a sustainable Polycarbonate glazing product, which replaces over 80 per cent of the fossil-based oil material with bio-circular materials, mostly sourced from the food industry.

With more than sixty years of manufacturing experience, Brett Martin has completed a range of Premier League club projects, providing roofing to a number of the top stadia in sports including Manchester United's Old Trafford, Manchester City's Etihad and most recently Everton's new stadium on Merseyside.

The raw material production process significantly reduces carbon emissions, leading to an 84 per cent decrease in overall carbon emissions. The product is extruded with 100 per cent renewable energy in a mass balanced process, certified by ISCC Plus, a certification gained by Brett Martin last year.

Paul Martin, from Brett Martin said: "We are delighted to be announced as the winner for the Green / Sustainable Company of the Year at this year's Business Eye Awards. It is our duty as world-leading plastics manufacturer to strive towards a sustainable future and the introduction of our BioPlus range has been pivotal towards this. It is fantastic to have the hard work and dedication of our teams in our sustainability journey recognised through this win.

"Brett Martin has made huge strides towards its sustainability goals but remains strongly committed to continuing its journey and will bolster our positive steps to date to continually improve our footprint on the planet."
