The Construction Employers Federation (CEF) has released resources for its health and safety initiative, Safety Reboot, which is taking place throughout January 2024.
The initiative aims to encourage construction companies to stop work for about 15 minutes, once a week throughout January, to take time to focus on key areas of health and safety.
Beginning on 15 January, two specific weeks have been selected to highlight mental health and workplace transport safety, as well as a number of partner initiatives or organisations.
Existing Safety Reboot mental health resources have been amended to include references to The Lighthouse Club and the Building Mental Health Alliance.
The Lighthouse Club stands as the sole charity fully committed to improving the emotional, physical, and financial welfare of construction workers and their families. Meanwhile, the Building Mental Health Alliance, an initiative within the Northern Ireland construction industry, aims to improve mental health for everyone involved in the sector.
The next week will focus on supporting the recently launched HSENI workplace transport safety initiative #drivedangerout. The Safety Reboot resources on mobile plant and equipment have been amended to reference the campaign with the aim of promoting this important topic throughout the industry.
