Uisce Éireann has announced that water mains flushing and scouring is taking place to safeguard North Sligo's water supply.
The works will improve the water supply for customers in Grange, Cliffoney and surrounding areas.
From today, 12 January, until 19 January customers in Groghagh, Kiltykere, Kilcat, Derry Road, Derry area, Grange Upperwood, Upperwood, Mountemple, Carns, Drumfad, Moneygold, Edenreagh, Cloysparra, Balincastle and The Willows may experience water supply interruptions and/or water discolouration for short periods.
Kevin Love, Regional Asset Operations Lead at Uisce Éireann said: "These essential works may involve some short-term water shut offs. We understand that this type of work can be inconvenient and works crews will make every effort to minimise any disruption these necessary works cause.
"The water supply should return to normal for the majority of customers a number of hours following flushing but it may take longer for the discolouration to clear in some isolated parts of the network. It is advisable to wait until the discolouration clears before drinking."
