Uisce Éireann has been working to restore the water supply to customers on the Westport Public Water Supply following power outages caused by Storm Isha.

Those impacted include customers in Aughagower, Lankill, Lanmore, Liscarney, Cushlough and those supplied by Brackloon Group Water Scheme are experiencing outages.

Power has been restored in the area and dedicated water services crews have been mobilised and are working to restore normal water supply as quickly as possible.

An alternative water supply is available in Aughagower. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers and to boil the water before consumption as a precautionary measure, as per Health Service Executive advice.

Colette Scahill, Water Operations Lead with Uisce Éireann said: "When water supplies return, we appeal to customers to help conserve water by not running taps needlessly, taking showers instead of baths and to postpone using dishwashers and washing machines where possible. This will help ensure a normal water supply returns to all customers as quicky as possible."
