Ward & Burke Construction Ltd To Replace Ennis' Water Mains

Ward & Burke Construction Ltd has been appointed to replace 250 metres of aged cast iron water mains in Ennis.

The company will be arriving in Ennis to replace the water mains with new modern pipes on Lifford Road which will result in improved water quality and a more reliable water supply for customers.

The section of works will take place along a section of the R352, from the Kincora Park crossroads to the T-junction at Shannon Park.

The improvement works will include installing new water connections from the main road to customers' properties and connecting them to their water supply.

Programme Manager for Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme, Jack Cronin said: "Replacing these old water mains and service connections in poor condition will eliminate existing leaks and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground. We would like to thank the residents on Lifford Road for facilitating these works and working with us to provide a more secure and reliable water supply for generations to come.

"We understand that this type of work can cause inconvenience for the local community, but our crews will make every effort to minimise any disruptions."

Works are expected to be complete by the end of March.
