Planning Permission Granted For Extension At The Rabbit Hotel

Planning permission has been granted by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council for an extension to the award-winning Rabbit Hotel and Retreat which is located at Antrim Road, Templepatrick.

The extension which represents a £8 million investment by the Galgorm Group will include a 46-bedroom extension, improved spa and leisure facilities, alongside dedicated parking and garden areas.

This development adds to Galgorm Collection's previous investment of £2.5 million in the hotel, which saw the establishment of the spa, refurbishment of bar and restaurant facilities, enhancement of banqueting and conference amenities, and upgrading of existing bedrooms.

The planned expansion is expected to bring various economic advantages to the Borough, such as an estimated increase of 30,000 visitor stays annually, the establishment of 30 new job opportunities, employment in construction during the building phase, and a boost to local supply chains.

Chairperson of the Planning Committee, Councillor Robert Foster said: "This latest planned investment from the Galgorm Group underscores their commitment to enhancing tourism infrastructure within our Borough. The extension to The Rabbit Hotel promises not only to elevate the hospitality experience for visitors but also to stimulate economic growth and employment opportunities in the region."
