Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has approved a planning application for AI Services (NI) Ltd to partially redevelop its existing site on the Antrim Road, Newtownabbey.

The redevelopment which is valued at £3.5 million includes four new sheds, livestock holding pens and two-storey office and staff facilities. It signifies the addition of six new positions to the existing workforce, reflecting the company's commitment to growth and investment. The redesigned buildings will adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and animal welfare.

The farmer-owned company with approximately 2,500 farmer shareholders which has been operating from its existing site in Newtownabbey since 1988 supplies an Artificial Insemination (A.I) service to livestock producers throughout Northern Ireland. As an EU approved Stud Farm the site facilitates exports to various countries including New Zealand, Canada, North America, and Australia.
