Preparation Work Begins On Social Housing In North Belfast

The Department for Communities (DfC) has announced that preparation has begun on the redevelopment of the Adam Street site on Duncairn Gardens in North Belfast which will provide social housing.

The social housing will be provided through a residential-led regeneration scheme as a result of a public consultation. This is in line with the Duncairn Gardens Development Study, commissioned by the Department for Communities (DfC) and published in March 2023.

The boundary of the Northgate site, located adjacent to Upper Canning Street, has been reconfigured and shifted back to facilitate a more expansive area for redevelopment.

Apex Housing Association has been selected by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) to undertake the redevelopment of Adam Street. A dedicated design team will collaborate with Apex to engage local residents and stakeholders, ensuring that the redevelopment aligns with the community's needs and aspirations.
