Paving and Building Products company, AG, has reinforced its commitment to exceptional service by introducing five new lorry cabs to its domestic fleet which are set to lower carbon emissions.

The company, which has locations in Fivemiletown, Toome, Pomeroy and Carryduff, already has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the industry and is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations to an absolute minimum.  

The new generation DAF XG 530 lorry cabs are equipped with the latest advancements in technology, featuring unmatched aerodynamics, market-leading fuel efficiency and advanced safety features.

These new cabs will not only improve AG's delivery capabilities but also support its broader sustainability and wellbeing initiatives.

In 2021 AG committed to the Business in the Community's Climate Action Pledge, agreeing to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by at least 30 per cent whilst beginning to tackle its Scope 3 emissions.

Having already surpassed their science-based targets as part of their public pledge, the firm remains dedicated to its decarbonisation efforts, with the updated fleet poised to make a significant contribution to their 2024 emission reduction goals.

Pioneering the adaptation of the latest EU regulations regarding lorry cab masses and dimensions, the modernised fleet is also in accordance with the objectives outlined in the updated Vehicle General Safety Regulation framework.

The legislation encompasses a range of mandatory advanced driver assistant systems to help improve road safety and is expected to save over 25,000 lives and avoid 140,000 serious injuries across the EU by 2038.
