County Down headquartered, GRAHAM has continued works from the ground up on the A164 & Jock's Lodge Project.
Progress on the project is ongoing, with the team initiating earthworks in May. Observers may have noticed alterations to the landscape from Skidby roundabout to Dunflat Road, as activities involve stripping topsoil and relocating subsoils for use elsewhere in the project.
Earthworks are also ongoing from the A1079 to the A164 from the A1079 to Lincoln Way, with approximately 105,000m³ of earth has been excavated, transported, and placed – that’s enough to fill over 40 Olympic size swimming pools. With 20 full time machines having been employed such as excavators, bulldozers and earth transporters to complete the operations.
Drainage operations continue from Dunflat Road to Coppleflat Lane, involving the installation of over 1,000 meters of new pipes. Utility diversions are also ongoing, including the relocation of a 400mm diameter Yorkshire Water main between Dunflat Road and Coppleflat Road.
The project team has achieved significant advancement in constructing the new Bentley Bridge, with concrete pours initiated to shape the bridge abutments – reinforced concrete supports crucial for supporting the bridge deck. Concurrently, work has commenced on the structures' wingwalls.
