Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply as swiftly as possible to Liscannor, County Clare, and nearby areas affected by a burst watermain.
The impacted areas include Liscannor Town, Derreen, Ballysteen, Moymore, Ballycotton, Carrowduff and parts of Kilshanny. Expert crews have been deployed to carry out the necessary repairs, with a traffic management plan in place throughout the process. The repairs are expected to be completed by 6pm today.
As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes. Following repair works, it typically takes two to three hours for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas as the water refills the network, especially for those on higher ground or at the end of the network.
Uisce Éireann’s Darragh Conneely said: "We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate the community's patience as we work to restore the water supply for affected customers."
