Uisce Éireann has announced that it is working to quickly restore water supply to customers in West Clare affected by a burst watermain.
The impacted areas include Miltown Malbay, Spanish Point, Quilty, Mullagh, Coore, Cooraclare and nearby regions in County Clare.
Expert water service crews have been dispatched and are carrying out the required repair works, with every effort being made to complete this work as quickly as possible. The repair works are expected to be completed by 5pm today. A traffic management system will be in place for the duration of the works.
Uisce Éireann's Darragh Conneely, said: "We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our crews work to ensure that a normal water supply is returned to all of our customers as quickly as possible."
After repair work is completed, it usually takes two to three hours for the water supply to fully restore across all areas. This process can be slower for those situated on higher ground or at the end of the network as the water refills the system.
