Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore the water supply in Tralee after a burst water main in Clogherbrien disrupted service to numerous homes and businesses.
The incident, which occurred early Monday, has left up to 1,000 customers in Clogherbrien, The Kerries, The Spa, Churchill, Fenit, and surrounding areas experiencing reduced water pressure or complete water outages.
The utility has deployed expert water services crews to repair the damaged infrastructure and aims to restore supply to affected areas by 7 p.m. this evening. Uisce Éireann has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and assured residents that every effort is being made to expedite repairs.
According to Uisce Éireann, most homes and businesses are expected to have on-site water storage to cover basic sanitation needs during the outage. After repairs are completed, it may take an additional two to three hours for normal water pressure to return across the network, particularly for properties located at higher elevations or at the network's farthest points.
