Essential works are set to be carried out tonight and tomorrow as part of Uisce Éireann's upgrade to the Clonmel water supply in Tipperary.
Shareridge, on behalf of Uisce Éireann, will deliver the improvements on Thomas Street and Dillon Street between 6pm and 11pm on both days.
The works will improve the security and resilience of the water supply across the town and will result in homes and businesses in Clonmel and surrounding areas being able to enjoy a safer, more secure supply.
Temporary traffic management will be in place for the duration of the works and local and emergency access will be maintained.
The Clonmel Water Supply Upgrade project represents a multi-million-euro investment by Uisce Éireann in water infrastructure in Clonmel and surrounding areas.
The works involve an upgrade to the treatment facilities at Monroe Water Treatment Plant (WTP); the installation of 15km of new water mains, as well as upgrades to the Rathronan Pump Station which will connect the Monroe supply to the Clonmel North Reservoir and Poulavanogue network.
It will address water quality risks for customers on the town’s Poulavanogue supply, allowing it to be taken off the EPA’s Remedial Action List.
