Leakage reduction works and water supply improvements to homes and businesses in Dublin 2 have been completed.
The works, which were carried out on behalf of Uisce Éireann by GMC Utilities Group Ltd, involved the replacement of 180 metres of ageing water pipes between the junction of D'Olier Street and Burgh Quay to the junction of D'Olier Street and Fleet Street.
Now complete, the project will significantly reduce the amount of drinking water lost through leakage and improve water quality across Dublin 2.
"We are delighted to have completed the works on D'Olier Street that will benefit homes and businesses across Dublin 2," said Declan Healy, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann.
"Replacing these old and damaged water mains is a first step in tackling bursts and leakage issues which have been affecting homes and businesses."
Declan added: "On behalf of Uisce Éireann, I would like to thank the local community for their patience and cooperation during these essential works."
This project was delivered as part of Uisce Éireann's national Leakage Reduction Programme.
