A 'Back to the 80s' themed charity ball, which was sponsored by a number of construction companies, has helped raise a record-breaking £118,000 profit for WaterAid.

The international charity's event was held recently in Titanic Belfast will all of the funds raised going towards the WaterAid Flowing Futures project in Rwanda, which works alongside local communities to increase access to water, improve sanitation services and promote good hygiene practices.

This year's Platinum sponsor of the charity ball was the Kinnegar & Sydenham One Team – comprising Farrans Construction, TES-CAW JV and AECOM who have been working collaboratively with NI Water to develop solutions for the delivery of a modern new Pumping Station at Sydenham and the extensive upgrade of Kinnegar Wastewater Treatment Works.

Meanwhile, the Gold sponsors were Morrow Contracts, Farrans Construction, BSG, McAdam, GEDA, GRAHAM, MWH Treatment and AtkinsRealis, while the Silver sponsors included Meridian Utilities, Water Solutions Ireland, Echo Managed Services, DLJ Water and CivCo.

Also at the event, Cool FM radio broadcaster and host Rebecca McKinney supplied the entertainment while top prizes went on offer, including a holiday for two to Amsterdam.
