Drainage works are set to commence over a two-month period in Westmeath, the County Council has announced.

In order to facilitate the Athlone Main Drainage Scheme works, a road closure will take place on Griffith Street (L-8018-0), Athlone, beginning from December 2, 2024 until January 31, 2025 for 24 hours daily.

Alternative routes available from Church Street/Old N6 (R-446-376) to Strand Street (L-8023-0) to The Strand (L-8024-0). Details of diversions for these temporary closures will be signposted.
