Customers across Kerry have now had their water supply restored after power outages caused by Storm Darragh caused numerous disruptions at the weekend, Uisce Éireann has announced.
Water production at a number of water treatment plants was substantially impacted as a result of the storm, however, crews from Uisce Éireann, along with support from energy supplier ESB, worked tirelessly to correct any issues.
Alternative water supplies were put in place to support those affected in Knockanure Village and Carrigcannon, Lyreacrompane, although these supplies have now been removed following the successful restoration of water supply.
Uisce Éireann's Charlie O'Leary said: "We would like to thank residents and businesses for their patience and understanding while crews worked to restore supply across the weekend.
"Storm Darragh brought exceedingly high winds resulting in power outages at a number of water treatment plants causing supply interruptions. We would ask customers to be mindful of their usage while the reservoirs recharge."
Separately, maintenance work took place on Monday, due to a burst rising main at Station Road, Ardfert; however, Uisce Éireann customers were not affected.
