Roadworks Ongoing Across Multiple Mayo Districts

An update regarding this week's roadworks, road closures and diversions across various districts has been supplied by Mayo County Council.

Westport Belmullet Municipal District

Works are ongoing on the R-335 West road close to the junction with the N59 Leenane road and traffic management is in operation.​

Meanwhile, the R-335 Louisburgh - Leenane road is now closed until further notice due to recent storm damage to a bridge at Cregganbaun; diversion routes are in place.

Roadworks are also ongoing on the R335 (Murrisk – Lecanvey) and traffic lights are in operation, the public has been asked to allow extra time for their journey.

Claremorris Swinford Municipal District

Road resurfacing works commenced yesterday on the R375 Kilkelly Rd in Swinford.

Road overlay works will also take place on the R327 Cloonfad Road at Cuilmore and roadworks are ongoing on local roads only in the Kilkelly Region of the Claremorris Swinford MD.

Ballina Municipal District

Pavement overlay works commencing on the R314 Ballycastle Road at Killala. Traffic management including traffic lights are in place with delays expected.

Roadworks are also ongoing on the L-1105 Crossmolina to Kilmurray Road.

Watermain replacement works are currently ongoing and being carried out by Uisce Éireann on Walsh St.

In Bachelors Walk and Arbuckle Row, an ESB duct installation is ongoing. Traffic controls are in operation and driver caution is advised.

There are also active travel works in Creggs Road, Ballina. These include new footpath and associated civil works.

Finally, roadworks are ongoing in Farrangarode (old Sligo road). Driver caution is advised and traffic controls will be in operation.
