Works are ongoing to complete a £220k road resurfacing scheme in County Down.
The scheme is resurfacing 800 metres of the U6292 Temple Hill Road in Newry from the Ballyholland Road to the Fort Hill Road Junction.
To facilitate the resurfacing works, a daily road closure is operational, starting today, from 9am to 5pm on Monday to Friday, until January 31, when the scheme is expected to be substantially complete.
An alternative route will be signed with traffic being diverted via Temple Hill Road, Church Street, High Street, Abbey Way, Boat Street, Courtney Hill, Ballyholland Road and vice versa.
Discussing the scheme, Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd said: "This scheme is a substantial investment for Ballyholland which will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users.
"The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities.
"This work will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the road network to the benefit of local residents, businesses and those travelling in the area.
"I would like to thank residents, local businesses and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is completed."
