ML Quinn Construction Ltd has been announced as the main contractor for a major housing regeneration project in County Kildare.
Contracts were officially signed yesterday by Kildare County Council confirming the appointment, meaning the construction company can now take the reins for the St Patrick's Park Housing Regeneration project in Rathangan.
The design team is led by Architects MCORM Architecture and Urban Design (McCrossan O’Rourke Manning) with the other design team members including Kelly & O'Callaghan Quantity Surveyors, POGA Consulting Engineers (Civil & Structural), Homan O'Brien (Mechanical, Electrical & BER) and Kennedy Fitzpatrick Landscape Architecture.
Caolan Quinn, Contracts Manager with ML Quinn Construction Ltd, said: "ML Quinn Construction are delighted to be involved in this project which will see St Patrick's Park redeveloped to a high standard, while also providing new amenities and recreational areas.
"We wish to thank both Kildare County Council and the project team who have entrusted us to deliver the project and we will endeavour to construct in a timely manner and to the highest quality."
St Patrick's Park will undergo significant redevelopment under the Remedial Works Scheme by the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage. The project will be completed on a phased basis over the next two years.
The planned works consist of the development of 7 new houses with an A2 BER energy rating, the refurbishment of 23 existing houses to a B2 BER energy rating and demolition of 15 existing houses to make way for extensive site development and all associated civil and landscaping works.
To improve the amenities for the residents of St Patrick's Park, the project will feature the creation of a new landscaped public open space, including green open spaces, a play area, a toddler play area and a community garden.
Sonya Kavanagh, Chief Executive, Kildare County Council added: "Kildare County Council is delighted to welcome ML Quinn Construction Ltd as our partner in this important project.
"This initiative will bring about positive changes for the residents of St Patrick's Park and the wider community in Rathangan."
