The Corlacky wind farm in County L'Derry is set to supply 2.5TWh of renewable energy to global retail giant Amazon after a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was reached with ERG Group.

The pay-as-produced agreement covers the energy and REGOs (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin) from the Corlacky wind farm, for which construction is expected to be completed by the 4th quarter of 2025, with commercial operation to follow.


Once completed, the plant will consist of 11 Vestas V117 turbines of 4.3 MW each, for a total installed capacity of 47.3 MW and an estimated annual production of around 176 GWh when fully operational, equivalent to around 66 kt of CO2 avoided and meeting the energy consumption needs of around 55,361 UK households.

Paolo Merli, Chief Executive Officer of ERG Group, a leading pure renewable energy power producer, said: "This important agreement with a global corporate player confirms ERG's leadership in the PPA market, which are fundamental tools for stabilizing revenues in a volatile price scenario.

"Thanks to this additional agreement, the amount of energy securitised by the Group through PPAs increases to more than 3TWh per year."
