Extensive renovations have successfully been completed to a parish centre in Bray, County Wicklow.
Refurbishment works at Most Holy Redeemer Parish Centre, which was originally built in 1907, included repairing its original sash windows, doors, brickwork, and cast-iron gutters. Special care was taken to restore the original features of this protected structure.
Interior renovations included complete electrical rewiring, fireproofing and new plumbing. Kitchens and accessible toilet facilities were installed to ensure full wheelchair accessibility on the ground floor.
Speaking at the official launch of the refurbished facility, Emer O'Gorman, Chief Executive, Wicklow County Council, expressed her appreciation to the hardworking contractors, architects and project teams who dedicated countless hours working on this project.
Emer said: "You've worked hard to ensure that this Parish Centre will continue to be a vital resource for everyone who calls this community home."
This project was partially funded by the 2023 Community Recognition Fund, which was established by the Department of Rural and Community Development to acknowledge the significant efforts of communities in welcoming and supporting individuals coming to Ireland from Ukraine and other countries.
This funding aims to support the development of community infrastructure and facilities that benefit the wider community.
