Power has now been restored to over 768,000 homes, farms, schools and businesses which were impacted by Storm Éowyn almost three weeks ago, ESB Networks has announced.

Restoration works were completed last night for all remaining affected customers, however, ESB Networks has issued a fresh appeal to customers, who have not previously reported loss of power, to do so by contacting 1800 372 999.

A statement from ESB Networks said: "The public should remain vigilant to the possibility of unidentified low hanging wires and should these be encountered, please keep away and report them to us immediately."
