NI Water will host a public information event for the next stage of its major £11 million Water Improvement Scheme in the South Down area.

The scheme is progressing well under contractor Farrans Glanua JV with the next phase of the works to upgrade the water mains infrastructure set to involve pipelaying along Main Street, Hilltown.

This is scheduled to commence in April 2025, with the completion of the Main Street works in June 2025. Following this, work will progress along the Newry Road.

Ahead of this next phase of the scheme, a drop-in information event will be held on Thursday, February 20, at the Hilltown Community Centre, Carcullion House, Rostrevor Road, from 4pm-6.30pm.

The project team would like to take this opportunity to provide the public with more detailed information and timescales for this significant project within the Hilltown area. Members of the project team will be available at any stage between the stated times to discuss the scheme in further detail and address any concerns.
