A cross-county road closure impacting Wicklow and Kildare commenced today (March 10) to facilitate the installation of a new watermain.
The ten-week road closure, R412 - from (junction with) R413 at Brannockstown, Kildare, to (junction with) R756 at Dunlavin, Wicklow, is expected to be in place until July 4 for the work on behalf of utilities company Uisce Éireann.
Alternative routes are in place: Southbound vehicles travelling on the R412 (Brannockstown to Dunlavin road) must turn left on to the R413 at Brannockstown and continue along the R413 (circa 5.5km) before diverting right onto the R411 at Ballymore Eustace.
From here, vehicles will continue along the R411 (circa 3km), then divert right onto the N81 and continue along the N81 (circa 1.4km) before diverting right onto the R756 at Hollywood Cross.
Vehicles will then continue along the R756 (circa 7.3km) as far as its junction with the R412 in Dunlavin Village. Northbound vehicles will travel vice versa.
