County L'Derry-based home builder Braidwater Group has offered industry insight to young people this week as part of an 'Open Doors' initiative.
Organised by Construction Futures in partnership with Build UK for the first time in Northern Ireland, the event runs from March 18 to March 22, during which time the Braidwater Group will host students from Foyle College, Limavady High School, North West Regional College, St Columb's College and St Joseph's Boys' Secondary School.
Discussing the initiative, Aisling Conway, Senior People Manager at the Braidwater Group, said: "We're thrilled to be part of Open Doors this week, welcoming students from five different schools/colleges to our sites. During tours, we'll provide insights and information about various careers in construction. One of the tours will focus on the role of software in modern construction practices, essential for planning and on-site activities.
"This initiative is a great platform to showcase our industry to schools, colleges, and universities across Northern Ireland. We extend our thanks to Construction Futures for organising this valuable event."
Fionnuala McKenna, Head of Strategic Development at Construction Futures, added: "Open Doors provides a fantastic opportunity for young people and those considering a career change to discover the breadth of opportunities within the construction industry. By going behind the scenes, participants can see first-hand the diverse career paths available."
