Farrans Construction will commence significant improvement works to Rathmullan's water supply this month on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
More than 600 metres of damaged water mains has been prioritised for replacement in the County Donegal-based seaside village which will ensure a reduction in disruption from bursts and supply interruptions for customers of the utilities company.
These works will not only give local homes and businesses more confidence in their supply, but the new pipework will put an end to leakage of treated water into the ground.
Crews will be carrying out this water main replacement project along Pound Street and Main Street in the village, where road closures will take place from Monday, March 31 to Friday, June 6.
These works are being carried out as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
Areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise impact and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned interruptions.
