NI Water has announced that one lane of Culmore Road in L'Derry, between Talbot Park and Culmore Road Roundabout, will be closed continuously from Monday, 07 April to facilitate the installation of essential new wastewater infrastructure.
The work, being carried out by NI Water's appointed contractor CivCo, is expected to take approximately seven weeks to complete. In the interest of public safety, the adjacent cycle lane will also be closed for the duration of the project.
To minimise disruption, CivCo has committed to working extended hours where feasible in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.
As part of the initial phase of pipelaying, the left turn from Greenhaw Road onto Culmore Road will be closed for the first three weeks. Diversion routes for both motorists and cyclists will be clearly signposted throughout the works.
Access to the local bus service at St. Peter's Church will be maintained during the closure, ensuring continued connectivity for commuters and residents in the area.
