PRM Group Announces £15m Expansion

Leading chilled and frozen food sales and distribution company PRM Group has unveiled a significant expansion plan, including a £15 million investment in new facilities and the creation of 40 new jobs, with more to follow as operations grow.

The investment will see the development of a new purpose-built site at the company's headquarters on Moira Road, Lisburn, complementing its existing facilities and bolstering its operations across Ireland, Great Britain, and Europe. The announcement follows recent planning approval and marks a major milestone in PRM’s continued growth.

The expansion also includes the rollout of a state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System (WMS), integrating Blue Yonder's Dispatcher solution, a leading platform in the 3PL and food logistics space. PRM will be among the first globally to implement the latest version of the system, enhancing accuracy, traceability and scalability across its logistics operations.

Founded over 35 years ago by Philip and Lynne Morrow, PRM remains a family-run business, with two generations and seven family members playing key roles in its success. From its humble beginnings, the company has grown into a major player in the food distribution sector, working with top brands such as Fage, Nomadic, Müller, Kinder, Cully & Sully, and more recently, Oddlygood, Biotiful, Coconut Collab, Gu and MyProtein.

With a network that spans major retailers including Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Musgrave, and Marks & Spencer, PRM offers its partner brands access to a broad and highly competitive marketplace.

CEO and Founder Philip Morrow said: "Our expansion is proof of the hard work and dedication of our team and the strong relationships we have built as a trusted partner with our suppliers and customers over our three and a half decades in business. We are not just a distribution company, we offer a complete suite of services under one roof, making it easier for brands to access the all-Ireland market. This type of holistic service has become highly sought after in the post-Brexit and Windsor Framework environment, and our strategic location enables us to support our partners perfectly. These new and significant investment plans reflect not only the demand in what we offer but demonstrate our confidence in the future and our commitment to providing clarity and confidence in the complex, fast-moving world of food retail."

PRM has taken a proactive approach to Brexit-related challenges, setting up a dedicated team to manage customs and compliance, ensuring uninterrupted trade across the UK, Ireland and the EU.

Alongside business growth, PRM is also prioritising sustainability, with initiatives aimed at reducing the company's environmental footprint through investment in green technologies and vehicles.

As part of the expansion, the company will create new roles across its commercial, operations, service and production departments. Opportunities will include positions in trading, sales, logistics, warehousing, transport, supply chain, customs, IT, finance and production.

Company Director Lynne Morrow added: "For over 35 years PRM Group has quietly built a strong client base, representing some of the biggest brands in the chilled and frozen foods market. Last year alone, we delivered 16 million cases of products across the island of Ireland and made 25,000 customer deliveries. With significant investments in technology, vehicles, and our people, I believe it's time to highlight who we are and what we do. More importantly, we want to showcase the exciting career opportunities we offer in the thriving world of the FMCG industry. We have an exciting future ahead of us."
