Uisce Éireann has announced that preliminary site investigation works will soon begin as part of a major infrastructure upgrade to replace 5.2km of aging water mains between Newcastle, Co. Dublin and Celbridge, Co. Kildare.
The project is part of a wider investment initiative aimed at modernising the water network in the region, with a focus on ensuring a more reliable and resilient supply for local communities.
According to Uisce Éireann, the initial site investigations in the Celbridge area are set to commence shortly and are expected to take approximately four to six weeks to complete. Full-scale pipelaying works are scheduled to begin in summer 2025.
This announcement follows earlier communications about the project, with Uisce Éireann now confirming the timeline and scope of the planned works. The upgrade is being delivered in partnership with GMC Utilities Group.
