Ward and Burke Construction Ltd is set to commence essential water works in County Clare next week on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
These works will take place along the R483, Alva, Creegh, Co Clare and involve the replacement of 800m of aged water mains prone to bursts as part of Uisce Éireann's National Leakage Reduction Programme.
As a result, a more reliable water supply will be guaranteed for the area. Jack Cronin, Uisce Éireann programme manager, explained: "Leakage reduction remains a notable priority for the banner county and replacing these old water mains that are in poor condition will ensure a more sustainable water supply, eliminate existing leaks, and significantly reduce the amount of clean drinking water lost into the ground, protecting our most precious resource. We would like to thank the local community for their support and patience in advance as we carry out these essential works."
Traffic management will be in place in the form of traffic lights along the R483, Alva, Creegh, during the project. Works are expected to be complete by the end of summer 2025.
