A £250,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme is currently underway in Newry, County Down.
The road improvement scheme involves the asphalt resurfacing for 0.65 kilometres of the Ardmore Road on the outskirts of Newry, commencing from its junction with A28 Belfast Road to a point 650 metres along Ardmore Road. Work is expected to be substantially completed by Friday, July 4.
Announcing the scheme, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: "This is a substantial investment for the Newry area which will deliver significant benefits for local businesses, residents and road users. The investment demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities.
"This work will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of this section of the road network to the benefit of local residents, businesses and those travelling in the Newry area.
"I would like to thank residents, local businesses, and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
A daily Monday to Friday road closure is now in place, from 8am – 6pm, until Friday, July 4, to facilitate the delivery of the scheme.
