Following consultations between the Health Service Executive and Uisce Éireann, the Boil Water Notice on the Carrick-On-Suir (Linguan) Public Water Supply has been lifted with immediate effect.
This follows remedial works with consistent satisfactory sampling results, meaning customers on this supply can now resume normal use of their water supply.
Uisce Éireann's Pierce Faherty acknowledged the impact of the notice on the community: "Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice had on the community of Carrick On Suir. I would like to thank them for their patience and support while our drinking water experts worked to lift it as quickly as it was safe to do so."
The notice was issued on June 9 to protect the health of over 4,000 customers following operational issues which impacted the treatment process at the plant.
