Following the completion of key flood alleviation works under the River Poddle Flood Alleviation Scheme, Phase 1 of the Tymon Park reopening successfully took place on Friday, 18 July, South Dublin County Council has announced.
This phase includes public access to the area surrounding the newly constructed Integrated Constructed Wetland.
Construction works completed for this phase have enabled the reopening of the Limekiln Road pedestrian access gates at Limekiln Avenue and Limekiln Manor, as well as the access point located behind the soccer pitch. These entry points provide access to the Wellington Lane end of the park from Limekiln Road.
Some construction activity remains ongoing, particularly in the area surrounding the main lake. As a result, access to that section will remain closed at this time. The footpath leading from the Limekiln Avenue gate towards the main lake, and the path behind the soccer pitch, will also remain restricted until works in that area are complete.
A phased reopening of the remaining sections is underway, with full access expected by late August. Further updates will be provided as subsequent phases are prepared for reopening.
