Ward and Burke Construction Ltd recently begun water infrastructure works to reduce high levels of leakage in Crohane, Dromkerry, County Kerry.

The works, on behalf of Uisce Éireann, will take place from the junction of the N72 at Crohane along the L-11012 Gortacollopa, Fossa and involve the replacement of 1.8 kilometres of aged water mains prone to bursts with new pipes. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August 2025.

Commenting on the works, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Jack Cronin said: "The section of water mains in Crohane, Dromkerry, was prioritised for investment and replacement by Uisce Éireann due to its age and deteriorating condition. These improvements to the water network are critical and we are delighted to progress these upgrades for the local community, providing them with a more secure and reliable water supply that will also reduce leakage and strengthen the water network for generations to come.

"We would like to thank customers in advance for their support and patience while we complete these essential works," said Mr Cronin.   

The project is being delivered as part of Uisce Éireann's national Leakage Reduction Programme.
