Upgrade works in Cahir and Foxhall have strengthened day-to-day water reliability by replacing ageing mains, cutting leaks and supporting conservation while the Water Conservation Order remains in place.

Homes and businesses in both areas will benefit after Uisce Éireann completed a programme of improvements to local water mains aimed at delivering a cleaner, steadier supply.

The investment is designed to support everyday life — from putting the kettle on in the morning to keeping local enterprises and community services running smoothly with dependable drinking water.

The project saw the replacement of more than 1.6km of ageing water mains in Foxhall with modern, resilient pipes, alongside a further 720m in Cahir. The old pipes had been prone to bursts and leaks, leading to supply interruptions and the loss of treated water. Reducing leakage will help conserve supplies, which is especially important while the Water Conservation Order remains in effect.
