A water outage has been planned to take place tomorrow (August 14) in north Drogheda, County Louth, to facilitate essential works to the network, Uisce Éireann has announced.

The works will take place from 10am to 4pm and may result in supply disruptions for Uisce Éireann customers in Newtownstalaban, Beaulieu, Queensbourgh, Baltray, Sheetland Road, Seapoint Road, Termonfeckin Village, Termonfeckin Road and surrounding areas in North Drogheda.

Uisce Éireann's Sinéad Kennedy has assured affected customers that crews will complete the works as quickly as possible to restore normal water supply: "We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by a planned outage and we thank customers in advance for their patience while we carry out these essential works."

Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers on higher ground or at the end of the network.
