Cookstown-based mechanical engineering firm Bruce Engineering has secured a £800,000 funding package from Danske Bank to support its expansion into new markets and refurbish its headquarters. The investment has enabled the company to purchase new, high-tech machinery, allowing for larger-scale plant manufacture and installations in the UK and new exports to Europe, including Scandinavia.
The family-owned business, which was founded in 1958, specialises in manufacturing modular aggregate washing plants for the quarrying, recycling, and materials processing industries. In addition to the new machinery, the financial support has enabled the manufacturer to refurbish its offices in Cookstown, which was completed in November 2024, creating an environment to support the fulfilment of larger contracts.
The company has also invested in its team, employing two additional staff, including a Design Engineer, to bring its total workforce to 30.
Lorraine Bruce, Financial Director at Bruce Engineering, said that the funding has allowed the company to grow its turnover and expand its presence across Europe, while also continuing to strengthen its home market in the UK and Ireland. Jayne Beacom, Senior Business Manager at Danske Bank, added that the bank is pleased to support Bruce Engineering's growth and expansion.
