Uisce Éireann is set to begin a project next week to upgrade the water and wastewater network in Skerries, supporting future growth in the area.
The work, part of Uisce Éireann's national Growth and Development Programme, will involve upgrading approximately 540 metres of water mains and over 200 metres of gravity sewer at Shenick Road. This essential infrastructure will provide the necessary capacity to facilitate new housing developments and strengthen the networks for existing customers.
Donal O'Connor of Uisce Éireann highlighted the importance of the project, stating that it is part of the company's commitment to delivering water services that support sustainable housing and economic development across Ireland.
GMC Utilities Group will carry out the work, which is expected to be completed by early 2026. A Stop/Go traffic management system will be in place on Shenick Road to facilitate the project.
While some short-term water interruptions may be necessary, customers will be given at least 48 hours' notice.
