Shareridge will commence works next week on a water main replacement project in County Kilkenny on behalf of national utility Uisce Éireann.
The works, which will take place between Clogga Cross and Tubrid Reservoir, will see over 2km of decades-old cast iron pipes replaced with new modern pipes. This upgrade will significantly improve water quality, reduce leakage, and ensure a more reliable supply for the local community.
Discussing the project, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, Dave Murphy, said: "We're pleased to begin this important upgrade in Clogga Cross, where the existing water mains require replacement. By investing in modern infrastructure, we're not only improving the reliability and quality of the water supply but also helping to reduce leakage and strengthen the network for future generations. We appreciate the patience and support of the local community as we carry out these essential works."
The project is expected to be completed later this year. The works may involve some short-term water interruptions, and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours' notice prior to any planned water interruptions.
