Kelly Brothers LLP has been appointed as the main contractor for S&W Wholesale's new purpose-built facilities in Newry.
The Warrenpoint-based firm, with almost 60 years of experience in the construction industry, will deliver the large-scale development on a site adjacent to the A1 southbound, around three miles from S&W's current base at Carnbane Business Park.
The project involves the construction of a 16,730 sqm storage and distribution warehouse, together with modern office accommodation. The facility is designed to support S&W Wholesale's growth plans and consolidate its operations, which have until now been spread across several locations.
S&W Wholesale is one of Ireland's largest independent wholesalers of FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods).
Ronan Kelly, Managing Director of Kelly Brothers, said: "We are delighted to be appointed to work on behalf of S&W Wholesale to deliver their new headquarters. The construction phase of this project will support local jobs and will engage a number of local contractors. We look forward to delivering these fit for the future facilities, which will help S&W to keep Newry on the map in the island wide grocery wholesaler sector."
Work is already underway on road widening and associated infrastructure, with the main construction phase due to begin in mid-August. Completion is expected by the end of 2026.
