A £678,000 carriageway and footway resurfacing scheme commenced today (September 22) in Belfast, extending from the junction of Norglen Road to the junction of Monagh Drive.
A series of weekday lane and road closures will be implemented to facilitate the scheme, with the lane closures beginning today between 8am and 6pm. These lane closures will be in effect until Friday, October 31, 2025. Following this, a full road closure will be place between 8am and 6pm from Monday, November 3 until the scheme's expected completion date of Friday, January 30, 2026.
Discussing the works, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins said: "This substantial investment of £678,000 for West Belfast will deliver significant benefits for residents and road users who travel through this area and demonstrates my commitment to improving our road network, which is vital for connecting our businesses and communities. I would like to thank residents and commuters for their patience while this essential infrastructure work is carried out."
The Department for Infrastructure has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience, however, whilst steps have been taken to accommodate local access, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works.
