GRAHAM, the main contractor delivering the new Ballycastle Leisure Centre on Quay Road, County Antrim, has strengthened its ties with the local community through a generous donation to Ballycastle Integrated Nursery Unit.
The contribution will fund new, accessible storage facilities for the school's Early Years playground, supporting both Nursery and Foundation Stage pupils.
The donation comes as part of GRAHAM's commitment to building strong relationships with local schools and community groups alongside its ongoing construction work. The new outdoor storage will enhance the school's ability to use its outdoor learning area throughout the year, providing a more inclusive and weather-resilient space for play and education.
Alan McCullough, Project Manager at GRAHAM, said: "This will be an ongoing relationship during the lifetime of the project and we look forward to engaging with Ballycastle Integrated Primary School and Nursery Unit to deliver core life skills to the pupils."
Paula Donald, Nursery Lead Teacher, added: "Our parents have been extremely generous in supporting fundraising events but due to the large amount of funds needed to purchase the shed it had been predicted it would take several years more before we would be in a position to buy it. This generous donation will make a huge difference to the youngest members of our BIPs community as they start their school life."
As part of this collaboration, GRAHAM has also delivered STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) workshops to help pupils understand the lifecycle of a construction project, apply STEM learning to real-world challenges and explore careers within the built environment.
