Ward and Burke Construction Ltd has completed the replacement of over 300 metres of ageing water mains along Gort Road in Ennis, County Clare, on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

The project involved installing modern pipes to improve service, eliminate leaks, and reduce water loss in the area.

Uisce Éireann Programme Manager Jack Cronin commented on the completion of the works: "Replacing these old and damaged pipes will significantly lower the instances of bursts and deliver cost savings by improving the operation of the network, requiring less maintenance in the future. This will result in a positive impact on leakage and the daily lives of the residents. We would like to extend our thanks to the community for their patience while these works were carried out."

Following the pipeline replacement, permanent reinstatement of the road surface will be scheduled and carried out in due course by Uisce Éireann in partnership with Clare County Council.
