FP McCann & SolarTyle Partner For Integrated Roofing Solution

County L'Derry-headquartered FP McCann has entered into a strategic partnership with SolarTyle to introduce an efficient, cost-effective solar roof system that combines SolarTyle's integrated solar tile technology with FP McCann's Thin Flat and Thin Flat Duo concrete roof tiles.

The collaboration supports the UK construction industry's move towards net-zero housing standards ahead of the government's Future Homes Standard, which will require solar panels on most new homes from 2027. Together, FP McCann and SolarTyle provide developers with a fully integrated roofing solution that meets these sustainability targets without compromising build efficiency or appearance.

The system installs directly onto standard roof battens, following the same process as a traditional tiled roof. This design simplifies installation and reduces on-site time while maintaining the durability and weather protection expected from FP McCann's concrete tiles. The end result is a streamlined, energy-generating roof that maintains a consistent, high-quality finish across residential developments.

"This partnership is about more than just a new product; it's about reimagining the roof itself," says Jonathan Pratt for FP McCann. "We combine our 70 years of expertise in producing high-quality, durable roofing materials with SolarTyle's cutting-edge solar technology. The result is a roof that is not only built to last but also built to power the future."

Available in Anthracite and Red, the SolarTyle system aligns with FP McCann's existing tile range to ensure visual consistency across various property styles. The system's energy output and ease of integration set a new benchmark for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) in the UK housing sector.

The MCS-certified system comes with a 15-year warranty and offers developers a single-source solution for both roofing and solar requirements. It also strengthens sustainability credentials for projects where carbon reduction and energy performance are key priorities.

Anthony Crespi, Co-Founder and Director at SolarTyle, noted: "For the first time, an integrated solar tile system can compete on price with the UK's leading in-roof PV solutions. Our technology utilises more roof area, maximising energy generation and providing greater design flexibility. We are thrilled to partner with a trusted name like FP McCann to bring this game-changing solution to a nationwide audience."

FP McCann and SolarTyle's collaboration provides a practical route for housebuilders, developers, and contractors to meet future energy standards while maintaining high standards of quality and design.
